Hintergründe des neusten Aufstandes, den politischen Kontext und emanzipatorische Perspektiven
Keine drei Jahre nach der Niederschlagung des Jina-Aufstandes durch das iranische Regime sind Ende Dezember 2025 wieder Millionen von Menschen im Iran auf die Straßen gegangen. Die Antwort des iranischen Regimes war schnell und brutal: innerhalb von wenigen Tagen wurden über 20.000 Protestierende massakriert und viele verhaftet. Aus inoffiziellen Gefängnissen gibt es Berichte über Massenhinrichtungen. Das Internet wurde mehr als zwei Wochen abgeschaltet.
In der Veranstaltung werden wir im Gespräch mit Nima S., einem iranischen Genossen, die Hintergründe des aktuellen Aufstandes sowie den politischen Kontext beleuchten:
Welche Teile der Gesellschaft sind auf die Straße gegangen? Mit welcher Klassenperspektive ist der Aufstand verbunden? Welche politischen Kräfte und Diskurse haben dabei eine Rolle gespielt? In welchem Zusammenhang steht dieser Aufstand zum Jina-Aufstand? Warum war die Repression so extrem und welche Rolle spielt Irans erneuter Konflikt mit den USA und Israel? Wo stehen die globalen Mächte in Bezug auf den Aufstand? Welche Positionen vertreten die Monarchist*innen. und warum sind sie dieses Mal so sichtbar? Und warum distanzieren sich manche Linke von dem Aufstand?
Und nicht zuletzt wollen wir mit euch gemeinsam über Perspektiven und Möglichkeiten von Bewegungen von unten im Nahen Osten und darüber hinaus diskutieren.
Die Veranstaltung ist in Deutsch. Bei Bedarf versuchen wir an dem Abend Flüster-Übersetzungen anzubieten: In Englisch oder auch andere Sprachen. Dafür brauchen wir Eure Unterstützung: Wir versuchen das gerne nach Bedarf an dem Abend zu organisieren. INFORMATION EVENT ON THE SITUATION IN IRAN
Background to the latest uprising, the political context and emancipatory perspectives
Less than three years after the Iranian regime crushed the Jina uprising, millions of people in Iran took to the streets again at the end of December 2025. The Iranian regime’s response was swift and brutal: within a few days, over 20,000 protesters were massacred and many were arrested. There are reports of mass executions in unofficial prisons. The internet was shut down for more than two weeks.
In this event, we will talk to Nima S., an Iranian comrade, to shed light on the background to the current uprising and the political context:
Which sections of society took to the streets? What class perspective is associated with the uprising? Which political forces and discourses played a role? How does this uprising relate to the Jina uprising? Why was the repression so extreme, and what role does Iran’s renewed conflict with the US and Israel play? Where do the global powers stand in relation to the uprising? What positions do the monarchists represent, and why are they so visible this time? And why are some on the left distancing themselves from the uprising?
Last but not least, we want to discuss with you the prospects and possibilities of grassroots movements in the Middle East and beyond.
The event will be held in German. If necessary, we will try to offer whispered translations on the evening: in English or other languages. We need your help with this: we will be happy to organise this on the evening as required.
