Collision Collective ist eine Vereinigung verschiedener französischer Jazz-Kollektive. Über die gemeinsame Organisierung ermöglichen sie einen Austausch von Erfahrungen und Stilen, der sich in der einzigartigen wie vielfältigen Musik der Gruppen ausdrückt.
Bereits letztes Jahr war Collision Collective Gast in der spedition. Wir alle mochten den Abend so sehr, dass wir wieder zusammen kommen.
Dieses Jahr sind fünf Gruppen bei uns, unter anderen Helved Rüm, die letztes Jahr angekündigt waren, aber kurzfristig absagen mussten und Perce Plafond, die zwischen den Acts mit ihren intimen Filmkonzerten auch visuell überraschen werden.
Alle geben sich spielerisch genreübergreifend, experimentell und groovig, überraschend und raumfüllend. Ein besonderer Ort für einen besonderen Abend.
Collision Collective is a jazz group formed by the union of different French collectives. Gathered together, they offer a unique sound, through the exchange of their styles and experiences.
Last year they were guests at our space. We enjoyed their performances so much that, once again, we wanted them to come together this year.
For this occasion, we managed to get 5 groups at Spedition, amongst others Helved Rüm, that was announced last year but had to cancel last-minute, as well as Perce Plafond who also surprise visual with their cozy film-concerts between the acts.
All play fully across genres, experimentally and groovy, surprising and space-filling. A special night for a special place.

TOC hält sich nicht mit Haarspalterei auf: die drei Musiker sind auf der Suche nach dem ultimativen akustischen Sound. TOC schneidet, kürzt, entzerrt und entkräuselt. Ihre Erforschung von Musik ist langsam, progressiv, wiederholend und beharrlich, mit elektrifizierender Energie, immer im Moment verhaftet. Weder dauerhaft noch direkt flattert die Musik, weht, loopt, erzeugt Abstufungen von Klangfarben.
When Toc deals with hair, it’s not about splitting them ; the three musicians are closed enough in their quest of the ultimate sonic brushing. Toc seeks, cuts, equalizes, and often uncurls. Its research is slow and progressive, repetitive and insistent, with electrified energy, always built in the moment. Neither permanent nor straight, the music waves, makes loops, gradations and colors.

PERCE PLAFOND präsentieren ein horizontales Filmkonzert, improvisiert und intim. Der Betrachter liegt, die Decke betrachtend und der Raum verwandelte sich in einen Spielplatz für Künstler und Musiker (und vielleicht auch mehr). Bilder und Musik werden in Echtzeit improvisiert, um eine ganze imaginäre Welt bereitzustellen.
Perce Plafond is a horizontal film concert, improvised and intimate. The viewer, lying, contemplating the ceiling, turned into a playground for an artist and a musician (and maybe more). Images and music are performed in real time, improvised on the spot, and deploy a whole imaginary world.

TANGERINES Inspirationsquellen reichen von Post-Rock und Electro zu zeitgenössischen Jazz bis hin zu den minimalistischen Komponisten. Die Zusammensetzung von Tangerines Sets sind voller Gegensätze – kraftvollen Melodien neben freien und ungezügelten Improvisationen. Das Endergebnis ist komplex jedoch noch zugänglich, organisch und dennoch festlich – Lichtjahre entfernt von reinem zerebralen Jazz.
Tangerine’s sources of inspiration range from post-rock and electro to contemporary jazz, to the minimalist composers. The composition of Tangerine’s set is full of contrasts – powerful melodies alongside free and unbridled improvisations making full use of effects and superimposed sounds. The final result is complex yet accessible, organic yet festive – light years away from a purely cerebral jazz.

Manuel Adnot (Sidony Box), Adrien Dennefeld (Ozma, We Are All Americans), Romain Dugelay(Polymorphie, Kouma) und Sylvain Darrifourcq (MilesDavid5tet!) gründeten 2014 eine neue Band mit dem Namen APRIL FISHES. April Fishes ist eine improvisierte und erzählte Reise durch die aquaristische Umwelt, sowohl von dem chinesischen Schriftsteller Mo Yan inspiriert als auch Gefühlen rund um die Tiefsee.
Manuel Adnot (Sidony Box), Adrien Dennefeld (Ozma, We Are All Americans), Romain Dugelay (Polymorphie, Kouma) and Sylvain Darrifourcq (MilesDavid5tet!) founded in 2014 a new band called April Fishes. April Fishes is an improvised and narrative trip throughout the aquatic World, inspired both by Chinese writer Mo Yan and by some feelings around the deep sea.

One plays his drums into the extremes of the instrument, the other seizes generated sounds, processes, transforms, and merges it with the existing acoustic space.
Together Helved Rüm dives into the sound material, the shape, the cause to deliver massive energy, both industrial and animal.
