SOLIDARIA

Globales Sommerfest in Bremen // Global summer festival in Bremen

// deutsch

Warum global? Warum ein Fest? Warum in Bremen?

Why global? Why a festival? Why in Bremen?

In fact, there are plenty reasons for it: Right-wing opinions are becoming more and more visible and audible all over Europe, in Germany but also here on a local level in Bremen. Moreover, there are many people in this city who stand up against this tendency (maybe better: recent development)– as individuals or as groups. People who advocate a solidary society; a society in which all inhabitants enjoy the same rights, feel comfortable, respect each other and refuse to live in fear. Among these people are some who are not aware of others who think and act alike, even though they are sometimes living in the same neighborhood. Thus, this event attempts to bring people from all parts of Bremen and around together. These people and groups are as diverse as their topics and positions.

It’s these topics and positions we would like to discuss together with you and your families, your friends and networks. We invite you to inform, exchange and connect, to dine and dance, to get engaged and stand up for your dream of a better city, to get to know and support each other.
The best things in life are free – and so are the workshops, discussions and most of the food that is awaiting you at the Festival. However, if you want please feel free to bring your own food to create some picnic atmosphere. If you can spare some euros for the concert & party in the evening, every donation is more than welcome and appreciated. One thing is for sure – the dance floor is yours!

You are wondering, who – in fact – is meant by „We“? In short: We are a collection of about 20 groups and individuals, who are getting together to make Bremen a fairer and more just society based on solidarity.
