feat. The Last Postman & Yousef Kekhia

Deutsch unten)

At a time with a lot of social distancing and after a long break, we look forward to sharing this space with you in a series of events. Hoping to offer a reach beyond emerging limitations.

In the first event two live concerts from Berlin will introduce their music, which takes you into the stories behind their works and ranging from dream-pop to folktronica. DJs will also combine us through this evening, starting with downtempo tribal beats and taking us at the end to a more groovy harsher sound.

This event is taking place in the open-air in front of the Spedition and it will be under consideration of the currently applicable hygiene measures. So please bring your masks with you, read all signs and follow our instructions at the entrance. Also, remember to apply the distance rules between you and others in the yard.

*The entrance is based on donations and all profits will go to supporting damaged people in Lebanon and Syria.

*The capacity of the place is limited so come early to join us!

The Last Postman is a Psychedelic-Indie/Dream-Pop experiment with live electronic elements and found objects. Initiated by Muhammad Bazz and Louay Kanawati in Istanbul in 2015 they consolidated with the rest of the musicians Bahila Hijazi, Hekmat Alkassar, and the visual artist Mohamad Mouselli in Berlin in 2016. In Istanbul, they initially composed and recorded four experimental tracks that gave them the opportunity to win a fund by Music Board Berlin in 2016 to record their first album. During their first summer in Berlin, they finished their first EP “Two Years Later” including five songs. A testament to the experience of friendship, love and emotional tumult in times of war, exile and their exposure to different musical strains along their journey from Syria to Berlin

Yousef Kekhia is a Singer-Songwriter from Aleppo, now based in Berlin. Since he left Syria due to the civil war in 2013, graduated from university in Istanbul, and finally settled in Germany in 2016. By combining contemporary Folk and Electronic music with Arabic lyrics, he developed a singular style of sharing his intimate stories, making them direct and moving. After writing his first songs and playing gigs back in Syria, he self-released the cover project “Away from home” (2015)together with his musician friend „Bisher Hafez“, whilst living in Turkey, re-interpreting artists like Bob Dylan, Damien Rice, and Tallest Man On Earth. “Away From Home” was named one of “10 Syrian Indie Musicians Who Give Us Hope For The Future of Syria” by Mideast Tunes. In October, Yousef Kekhia releases his first self-written solo single “Hal Ard Lamin?”, accompanied by a crowdfunding campaign in order to finance the production of his debut album “Monologue”, which is set to be released in 2019.
